So far, April hasn’t turned out to be "the cruelest month" at all. The April 2011 issue of School Library Journal features excellent reviews of both of my new books, including a starred review for Wheels of Change. Check out the write-up for Basketball Belles in Preschool to Grade 4 Nonfiction and the one for Wheels of Change in Grades 5 & Up Nonfiction.
Going Back

I'll be going back to "Old Nassau" this coming weekend for the She Roars conference, celebrating women at Princeton. (It's been 50 years since the first female graduate student was admitted to the school, and 40 years, I believe, since the first undergraduate female transfer student graduated in 1971. I was in the fourth class to admit women at the get-go.) There's a great lineup of speakers and events, and I hope to get in some time at Firestone library, still my favorite place to do research.

On Wednesday, May 4, I'll be talking about Wheels of Change live on "The Bike Show" on KBOO, 90.7 FM in Portland, Oregon. The show airs at 11 a.m. Pacific time; 2 p.m. Eastern time, and will be streamed live on the Web at kboo.fm. It also will be available as a podcast on iTunes.
